I dont know where Charlie got his inspiration to write songs like this but when I first heard this song as a 16 year old California native I wanted to go to Nolan County and ride into Houston and be in love with the girl with chestnut brown hair. I ve been listening to the Saddletramp album for 36 years and it never gets old. I fell in love with the steel guitar because of this album.

@jojo7955699 I was born in Sweetwater in '67left before I was 2,I'd like to go there someday,Igrew up in Wa,when I was in the Army I always asked guys from TX about Sweetwater,they were always surprised.
