@doktorandom Most people that have grown up around the trees love the forest. In fact most people that work in wood products love the forest. Its more than just a living for the workers. I find it strange that so many of the people that don't want people to use natural resources like trees live in cities. I for one love both the forests as well as the animals that live there. Both love and respect that which makes our lives so much better.

I heard spotted owls taste just like Chicken.
Just think how many chickens we could save if we started eating spotted owls.

@m8s4lif I have seen spotted owl in the Woodland Park Zoo, with a sign proclaiming that they could only live in old growth forests..... They seem to have been doing ok at the zoo??

I wonder how many people realize that spotted owls have been found in second and third growth timber. There are reasons for people on both sides of this issue to not report seeing spotted owls in the younger trees. Environmentalists don't want to admit that they live there. And the land owners want to be able to log there timber.

Those protesters ruiend the economy of the Pacific North West. They still are by building sidewalks to nowhere and roundabouts. Fing ornifornians.

There's a great little reastaurant in Eugene that serves BBQ Spotted Owl. Like selecting a lobster at a seafood place, you chainsaw down your own tree for the owl you want.
The biggest threat to the Spotted Owl is the expansion of the Barred Owl's range. The Barred owl competes directly with the spotted owl for resources... AKA natural selection. The Barred Owl is winning
