What is truly regrettable in all this is the behaviour of the European Union (EU). The EU has looked the other way, all the while Greece carried on with its charade. Surely Britain and France are well aware of the Macedonian situation. Was it not Britain and France that created Greece and supported it over the years? Was it not Britain and France that witnessed the signing of the Bucharest Treaty in 1913 and sanctioned Macedonias permanent partition in 1919?

By what right then can modern Greece, which has held Macedonian territory illegally for only 93 years, claim that Macedonia is Greek? Why is it that Macedonians who lived in Macedonia for at least 10,000 years have no right to call themselves Macedonian? Yet the settlers from Asia Minor, Albania, Epirus, Thessaly, Russia, Georgia and other places, whom Greece brought to Macedonia after 1912 and gave them Macedonian lands, HAVE the right to call themselves Macedonian.

It is a well known fact, recognized by the entire world, including Greece, that todays Macedonians have lived in Macedonia for at least 10.000 years. It is also a well known fact that Macedonia NEVER belonged to Greece, not during ancient times, not during the middle ages and certainly not during the Ottoman occupation. The only time part of Macedonia became Greek, is when Greece forcefully and illegally occupied it in 1912.

Stop lying. No Greek would call FYROM "Macedonians" (other than a tiny minority of leftists - of the sort of "comrades" betrayed their homeland for Tito during Greece's communist civil war). Ancient Macedonians were self-identifying Greeks. If you don't yourself as related to ancient Macedonians that's perfectly fine. Stop calling yourself Greek. Be proud of your Romanian heritage.

I am Greek, I am appalled at th way two Eastern Orthodox peoples treat each other, that is why the miserable Turks were able to keep hold on all of us. I have been all through Macedonija. I accept the Macedonian people as brothers are Slavs, they should be treated with dignity by all their neighbours. Stop the hate, there is no room for this in Todays Europe. The towns are Macedonijian and not Greek, some are mixed. Let us all get this together and live in peace.
