@luverdude if you are an alcoholic, there is no such thing as cutting back. if you feel like you need to cut back you are an alcoholic, period. Either get sober or look forward to years and years of vomiting, getting fired, and a beer belly that is unattractive to women untill your youth is gone forever.

this weekend i am cuting my drinking days, i will only go out friday nite and lock my self sat and sunday home, good luck to me . next weekend i will do the same thing until get use to , you cant quit in just one day , you cut your days of drinking like a schedule and youre ready to go, dont let the alcohol be part or you.

I'm 29, 10 years of hardcore drinking behind me... The last couple years have been hell. I'm 5 days sober, and still going through withdrawals. Have tried quitting countless times, but I can't stand humiliating myself and being a retard anymore. I can't have a friggin' beer without going on 2-3 day bender anymore, its gotten BAD. Grats to you for quitting bro.

Try and remember what it was like to be drunk in a bar, and not try and imagine meeting a girl who is stone sober. Would you feel very comfortable talking to her while you're drunk and she's not? I don't mean would you have the courage to, I mean would you not feel terribly self-conscious about it? I know I would, and I know I *did* feel that way when I would drink and talk to sober people. I felt like a sad case around sober people. Perhaps that girl you met was just embarrassed from drinking?
