@ma55aracin9 I wondered if there was any connection between Teleprompter Cable and Bright House Networks and quite possible, if they owned the Filmation Company, had they kept it and not sell it to L'oreal, then it would have been owned by Conde Nast and Discovery Channel, who are parent companies to Bright House Networks. So, my believe is, that Bright House Networks did owned Filmation at some point.

@caa1000 according to Wikipedia, Filmation was, indeed, owned by Teleprompter Cable between 1970 and 1982 before being bought out by Westinghouse/Group W and then sold over to L'Oreal cosmmetics.....only to be shut down by the latter in '89, with most of thei backlog owned by Paramount, the Warners and Entertainment Rights

@JBofBrisbane The maximum size of a CRT was 27 or 32 inches. Rear projection technology overcame this limit.

Remember when Sony's TV ads said, in effect "Our 20-inch Trinitron screen is as big as most people will ever need"... probably because they couldn't build the Trinitron picture tube any bigger. Now Sony is building mega-sized LCD and plasma screens along with the rest.

@Membrane556 LCD TV's have a MUCH shorter lifespan than their older counterparts. The printed circuit boards are so thin and brittle in the new 3D HDTV's that you can't even use screwdriver to open the damn thing up.

Is it true that Teleprompter Cable, which I believe is now known as Bright House Networks Cable in Florida and Indiana, was the owner of Filmation the animated company behind the He-Man & She-Ra cartoons?
In March 1994 I purchased a brand new 13 inch Sony Trinitron color TV at a FEDCO store! Still has a very clear picture! NO repairs! NO Maintenance! Very Reliable TV! The Toyota of TV's
