@AudioCorps can you name me any other phone or mp3 player that has been relevant for even half the time of any ipod touch or iphone? Apple is not perfect but more than any other company I have seen they make hardware last far beyond its time by pairing it with good software. I still use a 3g and although I cant play every game I still feel like I've got my moneys worth and more. I do agree though, there have been a few times where i get very disappointed when I cant play a new game because

it's ridiculous, the games that should be playable on old ipods are impossible for some unknown reason and apple just keeps forcing the same damn thing on us with upgrades instead of taking their time to make something. they've released 4 friggin models of the ipod touch and iphone already with hardly any major gaps in hardware between releases.

@Domant5 Because you can't stick with the same technology forever, all technology becomes obsolete at some point. Besides all my favorite games are compatible with my old 2g, most of the 4g only games are more about graphics and aren't that amazing with content.

@Domant5 because apple had to be the douche that pushed the hardware further than it's needed for handheld devices.... i, on the other hand, have a 4g ipod touch.
