Murder begins with hatred against a person and against a people. According to the Apostle John, everyone hating his fellow man is a murderer. The Nazi, Arrow Cross holocaust teaches us that we are to take seriously the organizations which, based on hatred against certain ethicities and religious communities, attempt to seize power. This morbid phenomena cannot be understated, disregarded, just as a biblical principle also warns us: „ A little leaven leavens the whole lump. In other words, Hungary will only be able to gather momentum and escape the consequences of the crisis if it ejects the „leaven of anti-semitic, racist and nationalist hatred. We Hungarians must do this, this is what our consciences command, this is what the civilized world expects from us no one is going to do this instead of us!
It is not an easy task. Jobbik and its Guard can generate deep conflicts between a Hungarian and a Hungarian, can poison the relationship between our homeland and the neighbouring countries, they can force Hungary into an international political and economic isolation, by the negative consequences of which our present problems would be dwarfed. It is us who must shoot the vaccine necessary to overcome the diseases of the Hungarian society, us who consistently and unambiguously oppose fascist ambitions. We would like a Hungary where all law-abiding citizens are respected regardless of where they belong in a religious and ethnic sense.

We greatly appreciate the over one- thousand-year-old efforts of the local Jewish communities to help our nation to survive, renew and develop. The Hungarian Jewish community blessed Hungary and the world with special persons of human greatness, whom we are rightly proud of.

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen! I would like to call your attention to the strengthening anti- Israelism, which is the latest form of anti-semitism. The existance of Israel is of special importance. We consider it important for Israel to remain a strong state, which can provide safety for the Jews living there and in the diaspora - having been almost constantly threatened to lose their very lives in the course of history - and give protection against the destructive resolve of their enemies. As Christians we consider it our task to preserve and represent the values of Judeo-Christian civilization. And Israel plays an increasingly dominant part in this, since it safeguards and restores biblical sites, providing for and helping the sons of all nations at a higher and higher standard to study the authenticity of the history of the Judeo-Christian revelation at its original site.

The local anti-semites are increasingly antagonistic towards the political, cultural and economic cooperation of Hungary and Israel. For their accusations they regularly use stereotypes originating from islamist circles, where Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf or The Protocols of the Elders of Zion are the most popular pieces of literature. Iran's nuclear endevours present a real danger for the world and particularly Israel. Iran's president Ahmadinejad is the greatest enemy of Israel today. Jobbik and its Guard are an anti-semitic and an anti-Israel movement. One of their strongest foreign supporters can be linked to the president and regime of Iran, which oppresses its own opposition with relentless cruelty. The politicians who, in face of the threat from Iran and despite its participation in the support of domestic extremist movements, choose to remain blind make a serious mistake. They have a political responsibility similar to that of the leading European politicians of the thirties, who were not willing to face the dangers presented by Hitler and Nazism.

We, Hungarians and Europeans would like to live in peace with the Israelites, as well as with several Arab countries. Nevertheless, we cannot disregard the fact, not even in the condition of oil-dependance, that while world leaders are speaking about peace and disarmament, Iran is drawing near to possessing an atomic bomb. The religious and political leaders of the Persians uniformly state that Israel must be wiped off the map. One of the powerful causes for my participation in The March of the Living this year is this. If we cannot change historical past, let us at least do our best not to repeat it. Let us do our best, so that Jews, Roma, and our other fellow-countrymen belonging to other minorities may live and succeed in our homeland without fear and free. Let Israel not become a modern death camp, a modern mass grave for the Jews, but according to the ancient and everlasting promises „the land flowing with milk and honey, a free and safe home.
