Curious what my american accent is. I have been told that I have a southern accent when I lived in New York City, but I know what a southern accent sounds like, I'm pretty sure it isn't.

one more thing, I edited some clips out to make myself less of a complete douchebag, I can tell you now, I make Keanu Reeves acting god-like.

another thing, in case your wondering what I was watching behind my monitor "Frisky Dingo" and the magazine I was reading "Skeptical Inquirer"

  • It sounds like a virginia or carolinas accent to me.. tell me!!

  • It's not a regional accent at all. It is just your speech pattern with the slightest of lisps. But that is from mouth structure, not a region. Most Americans are pretty hopeless when it comes to identifying regional accents. It is usually the ones who have lived in many places that can do this.

  • @irkofan in the midwest we hate those damn yankees

  • You defiently have an American accent, and I believe that unlike what Polsaccharitus says, English IS your first lanague. To me it sounds like a mid-western accent.

  • I'm from the midwest, and when I moved down to Texas, I was consistently asked if I was from the North. I was also accused of being a "Yankee" a few times. X3

  • NOT southern....at ALL.

  • It sounds like a more like what some people would call a "nerdy" accent where I live. (Washington State)

  • Hybrid.

  • This is a highly educated guess on my part. Japanese(oriental) American with a lisp and occasion somewhat of a slurred speech but not southern slurr. Sorry if to technical but I am trying to help you understand and identify your voice. You have chacteristics within your pattern of your speech but I dont want to write paper.... everyone has unique voice.

  • Midwestern, countrylike accent
