For those of us who have been privileged to see him sing this as well as hear it, it is basically THE reason we go to the race. The race is fine, but the opening ceremonies (especially this part of it) are what make it the event it is. Love you, Jim. If you ever leave Hawaii, you can stay "back home" here anytime you want to!

Coming from Wabash, Indiana.. it makes me glad that our river is mentioned in this song. I go to this race every year and there is simply nothing like it. 250,000+ people for the 100th running and it was a sight to be seen. The majesty of this race track will never be duplicated. I believe it doesn't matter where you come from. Everyone who attends this race is a Hoosier, for a few hours at least! :D

Being on Andy Griffith show and the way Nabor talked I couldn't believe it when I first heard him sing. OMG, just beautiful.
