Magneficent Marilyn Horne; her voice here is incredible; with a dramatic mezzo voice but still able to sail through the florid coloratura passages At times she sounded exactly like Grace Bumbry, but she definitely has real coloratura (which Bumbry did not). The caballeta piece that concludes this aria is fiendishly difficult but Horne does a great job there. It's a shame that Meyerbeer great operas aren't staged anymore. It didnt survive to the 21st century.
