  • Dad: What's that?!?

Kid: It's my troop transporter! It makes 5 more sounds too!

Dad: Turn that fucking thing off! I can't read the paper!

  • That was before planet Kenner joined the rebellion.

  • @Castleinthesky007 Yeah it's weird but considering that every vehicle shown on screen was replicated in toy form except the Y-Wing and Imperial Cruiser (though these could have been due to scale and cost the Y-Wing was eventually sold) in order to expand the line Kenner needed some imagination which is why I'm guessing vehicles like this and the mini rigs started coming out.

  • @trans8010

I've no issue with anything you say.

I'm just pointing out that this toy was not in the movie (which was very unusual for a toy in the kenner action figure range during the 77-83 run).

  • @Castleinthesky007 Ok expanded universe. Just because you did not see it in the film does not deter this as a Star Wars toy. Kids simply used their imaginations to create a scene where their Sandcrawler or Land of the Jawas cardboard piece (for those who could not afford the other one) was blown to smithereens and use this vehicle to do it, since the vehicle performed this action in the comic a kid could believe they were simply reenacting a scene that could have been cut from the final film.

  • @trans8010

No I didn't have one. I've seen the pamphlet. It maintains that this vehicle was involved in the attack on the Jawas. Still doesn't change that this toy/vehicle was never actually seen in the movie.

  • @Castleinthesky007 Did you have one? If you did there was a pamphlet inside the box explaining it's use in the first film. Kenner thought of everything back then.

  • Let's see what sound it makes when we throw it in the fireplace !

  • @Castleinthesky007 The little transport that takes Luke and the others to the Yavin Rebel Base and in the opening scenes of Empire Strikes back in the background

  • @jediking12

At what points in the movie? I seriously don't think there's anything that looks like this toy in the OT.

  • I remember seeing this toy when it came out and thinking "wait a minute, that wasn't in any of the movies! they can't make a toy of it?!"

How naive I was. Nowadays of course they'll make merchandise for any old shit and stick a Star Wars logo on it.

  • The rebel transporter was better, it could carry fuck loads of action figures - Looked authentic too.
