  • Yetta is just a nice Jewish woman's name that rhymes with lots of words in the song and if you know the music of the original song (it's a French song I think) Yetta also rhymes with the title of that song .... I think?

  • How about When I Was A Lad (Now I Am A Partner In The Agency)?

  • I love that song too must look to see if I got it on mp3 ... but hey I will see what I can do.

  • Cute montage! I think Allan meant Loretta Young rather than Loretta Lynn. But the two got confused a lot. This is great!

  • You are the 2nd person to pick up on that mistake. I have no way of fixing it. I am glad you liked it mistake and all.

  • Just the same, your film is superb. I enjoy the song more now than I did in 1962, and your witty and apt images really bring back the period.

  • Thanks for the kind words. Check out my new film of Allan Sherman's The Ballad of Harry Lewis ... just completed for the 4 of July.

  • I've always enjoyed Allan Sherman. This is in my top three of Sherman favorites (along with "Sarah Jackman" and "Good Advice"). Love all the images included with it. Thank you for posting this.

  • @HPAnimeFreak wow, alrighty then. Forget what I said.

  • @DiggityDoglikeDogg Allouette is about preparing a bird for cooking.

  • Loretta Young, of course, not Loretta Lynn. @ 1:31

  • In another era Yetta would have Sky plussed What's My Line when the Leonard Bernstein programme was on!

  • @mechanicalmagician yes. this is a parody of a french song. I think it was about war.

  • @mechanicalmagician Yes a French song Allouette I think that is the spelling we had to sing at school in the 60's

  • Excellent. Yes, Loretta Young not Lynn... but still brilliant. "...for tonight we shall not see..." (Ray Charles). Woof!

  • Brilliant, but excuse my ignorance -- who is the Yetta?
