  • The Angry Video Game Nerd has started doing a board game review segment called Board James. You should see if the two of you can collaborate on a video together.

I always felt the one thing that would make Board Games with Scott more interesting would be a malcontent screaming profanities in the background.

  • I don't want to replace the role of my viewer for the show! I picture them as the malcontents screaming profanities at me!

  • hi, what do you mean witha copy review?

  • That means I got a free copy of the game. The FTC is currently talking about legislation where reviewers have to disclose if they got the item they are reviewing for free. This doesn't change how I look at the game, but I'm providing full disclosure.

  • what happens ifn you need a letter to spell a word that has already been taken of the board?

  • You just skip it, just like I skipped the vowels and the X in plexiglass.

  • About Scrabble, I don't know, but I find those "Scrabble Dictionaries" and people memorizing words for ther game (like "Q-" words) to sort of ruin the game.

The whole point of the game I always felt was to test each player's vocabulary and quick thinking, and memorizing words from specially-made dictionaries goes against that I feel.

  • Actually, you wouldn't have to bring the board itself either. Just the letter peices would do.

  • If it was made by the same company as apples to apples! I might check it out!

  • Hi... I got to play this game last weekend and LOVED it!! Loved the heckling aspect we laughed so so hard. Without the heckling it's just a game... albeit a good one... it would not have been so hilarious as it was indeed!

  • I really liked this game. The talk-at-your-opponents-during-their-turn function is amusing, though you might not want to use that with people you don't know well.

  • Scott i think that you are doing a great Job, you should try out "Settlers of Catan" it is a verry cool BOardgame from Germany

  • Well, Scott, the game may not be hilarious, but I thought your description of the heckling rule was. ;-)

    Thanks for the review.

  • It looks like a game easily adapted to spelling activities in elementary or secondary education. I hope Mr. GIles Pritchard gets a chance to test this with some of his students, and give another review from his point of view.
