not really though.....in ff6, once you reached the world of ruin, there was a plethora of sidequests before you decided to go fight kefka, that ranged from extra summons to characters.
ffxii allows you to explore the world whenever you want, and has nearly a hundred sidequests.
even vii had the WEAPONS, extra red materia, the master materia, ultimate weapons...
xiii has none of that

I actually trainned Japanese in school so i know a bunch.
And whats so damn wrong in loving the culture of another country?
Americans talk about how great America is all the time and they even call it the best country in the world often but if you like another country your a weirdo.
Theres lots of things about Japans culture that is much better than the western countrys in my opinion.
