@alianata You should try using ur index and middle fingers, makes playing faster stuff a lot easier, also, you shift way too much! Don`t make it harder for yourself, find tabs that have the smallest and most efficient shifts.

Dude, I have seen people play stringed instruments upside down, backwards, or even like a keyboard and still sound as if they were masters at the instrument. There's no "right" way to play a bass. Some of the best bassists strum it like a normal guitar, pluck with only one finger, or beat the crap out of it (see bass-slapping). Keep doing your thing man; some people are just too critical and can't just listen and enjoy.

is it the frets im playing or the way i plucked the string? i got the tabs online and thats when i was completely new to bass i just got the bass that week. i wasn't used to it yet.
