  • I've used Pimsleur with ok results although the massive onslaught happened with total immersion. Which hemisphere is Pimsleur base on?

  • @IASOU2005 It's Left Brain--and the DVD method is not what he really intended--he died before he could implement everything. Nonetheless, there are things that can be done to maximize the DVDs.

  • What an interesting video. I look forward to more of them. The ALG approach that you mentioned does confuse me, since former students on the Thai forums tend not to talk so positively about it. I remember several of them claiming that the most widely paraded "successes" from ALG were actually taking more traditional lessons at night to compensate for the deficits of ALG (e.g. to help them speak rather than just be passive) In short, massive listening only made them good listeners.

  • @FluentCzech I will make a video talking about ALG along with TPR in the ver near future

  • @pgale You might want to consider coming to Thailand where I can personally connect you with Thai language learning

  • @amoondria That is a very good approach. There is a method that uses acting and plays to learn other languages.

  • .....(continuation lol) I would watch a cartoon and assume a role of one of the characters. :) I really hope there's some kind of method I could incorporate into my studies so I can acquire another language in as natural way as possible :)

At the moment I'm stuck where I am and I have no other choice but to study by myself.

  • Very interesting video. Looking forward to seeing more on this subject. Unfortunately as a self learner I have no choice but to use the left brain approach :(

Most schools here offer very limited choice of languages and classes are based on doing grammar drills. I'm interested in knowing if there's a right brain approach for self learners. I'm sticking with shadowing for now because I acquired my english in a very similar manner at a very young age....

  • @pgale Will be updating I think in the very near future.

  • @christopheclugston Thx for reply I have subscribed, look forward to guidance as to how to approach these learning methods in the future.

  • @pgale Thanks for your interest. I am providing info as a free service and as such it has to wait for my other business matters and Academic Research to ebb. If you want to be sure to catch when I put out new info it might help to subscribe. I've got lots of requests from Academic Trained people to address some issues as well as the language learner wanting free research--so I will get to it when time allows, as I said.
