My father was a member of the IRBM unit in Turkey. The unit was months away from being operational and was moved to northern Greece after the crisis. The Soviet IRBM unit was already operational in Cuba. Not much of a trade off.

The Army has an indomitable spirit and is determined to vanquish all enemies and never to yield.

No matter what the difficulties and hardships so long as a single man remains, he WILL fight on..

@cultofmao Mao Tse - Tung was a great manipulator and demagoguem much like hitler and your average tv preacher. Its not hard exploiting the poos and disillusioned to serve your own needs like Mao. Mao was just an malevolent mass murdering oppurtunist. Read the Black book of Communism before devoting your political life around a clown like Mao Tse Tung.

Actually the Bay of Fundy between New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, on the east coast of Canada has the highest tides in the world as certified by Guiness Book of World records. Record tides in the Minas Basin (N.S.) were 54 ft with average tides being around 45 ft.

Soviets are proud of those big nukes while U.S. mastered the style of accurate-missiles. . .not to mention that U.S. is also capable of bigger nukes but they shit about it, big nukes only disrupt the security of all the nations. . .so they came up w/ accurate missiles, high technological way of warfare eliminating the need of nukes

Accurate missiles are only as good as the accurate information put forward before hand.

dude, there are many corsairs you can name of like F4U Corsair, a single-engined, single-seat shipborne fighter
A-7 Corsair II, a single-seat light jet attack aircraft
O2U Corsair, a biplane scout and observation aircraft.
USS Corsair (SS-435), a United States diesel-electric submarine, maybe the narrator got it wrong or maybe not but those old planes had retired some decades ago so it ended up stereotyped by the narrator as "Corsairs"

Yeah, I understand that the term can refer to a few other military aircraft. I was just annoyed that a documentary crew didn't notice the aircraft on screen didn't match what the narrator was describing...
