@jdg48439 Hurricane by Bob Dylan ain`t bad !

This has got to be his best piece. The simplicity combined with the message is just so powerful. Plus, as always, his vocals are immaculate.

"You've slept too long in silence, momma said"....brings me to tears every tme. Breaks my heart for parents of any kids who've run afoul of the law or taken their own lives due to metal illness. A masterpiece by EJ

This song stopped me from walking into the Kicking Mule Bar one cold rainy night. I sat across the street on the curb in the rain smoking moist cigarettes. I counted 14 people, alone or in couples slowly leave and head home. The owner and his son locked up. "Hey stranger, need a ride bud?" "No,Thank you, I'm home."

piano and voice..naked and raw.....great !!!!!

such a great song, I love the concept of a troubled child being a ticking time bomb.

the album cover isnt the Album this song was on, but it fits the song better.

An audio gut punch.

One of his BEST!!!
The reason this song never really made it was because it's just too painful for people to bear. Elton John knew that his music tapped into the younger generations, his music was simple and beautiful. But he knew that some of his fans were struggling mentally and were in a tough place, so this song is dedicated to those who have so much pain in their lives. I mean, the song is about a schizophrenic boy, how much closer to home can he hit to those young fans?

This song is sung so well that I can see the entire story in my head almost as if I'm seeing a video of this tradgedy unfolding. Kinda reminds me of the movie Dog day afternoon with Al Pacino.
