In sustainable energy news, Formosa (Taiwan) converts fish farms to a viable solar energy business. To help reconstruction and promote development in areas affected by the 2009 Typhoon Morakot, The Honorable Magistrate Tsao Chi-Hung of Pingtung County introduced the water conservation and sustainable power generation plan. It involves the former fish farmers renting out their space to Apollo New Energy Corporation, which produces solar energy. Then, the government of the county helps to sell that sustainable energy to Taiwan Power Company, which is operated by the Formosan government.

The Honorable Tsao Chi-Hung (m): This is a transformation from a water and electricity intensive industry to an industry that helps conserve water and electricity. It will cover a vast area. This kind of solar energy will drive the green energy industry in Formosa.

Wu Wu-Da

Formosa (Taiwan)

(In Chinese)
Wu Wu-Ta (m): Why am I willing to rent the land to the solar energy company? I think this energy is the best because it doesn't cause any pollution.

Our sincere appreciation, The Honorable Magistrate Tsao Chi-Hung, for leading this valuable project. Also our earnest thanks, Pingtung County, Apollo New Energy Corporation and Taiwan Power Company, for taking part in this Earth-friendly endeavor. May green projects such as these, combined with the low-emissions vegan diet, grow and flourish for the benefit of all.
