As the year suggests, this is the wedding of King George VI and Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, Queen Elizabeth II's future parents, as incarnated by Colin Firth and Helena Bonham Carter in 'The King's Speech'. But this is all with the benefit of hindsight: as far as the Topical Film Company was concerned, they were filming the wedding of the Duke of York, second son of King George V - though they still treated it as a major media event, with nineteen cameramen filming the proceedings from numerous angles. Y did they not film this in1080p I mean it's a rly rare occasion right? And they cheap out on the camera + there's no sound ... O and btw, all the ppl in this are Dead,trololol.

I find a lot of the comments attached to this video very depressing. Seems like a lot of people are using it simply to share their own hate and racist attitudes. It's a shame that people don't use it to discuss the film itself. It's an amazing record of almost 90 years ago. So extraordinary to see a news item like this before sound film and TV was invented. And great to see after yesterday's royal wedding - so similar, but so different. Thanks for posting.
