Best of the Snowbirds airshow footage from 2007 season put to music.
Filmed throughout my year on the team.
Music by U2 - Where The Streets Have No Name

The 431 Air Demonstration Squadron consists of approximately 85 Canadian Forces personnel. All members of the Canadian Forces Snowbirds are serving members of the Canadian Forces, including the Reserve Force, each of whom brings years of military experience to the team

The Snowbirds demonstrate the high degree of professionalism, teamwork, excellence, discipline and dedication inherent in the Air Force and the Canadian Forces.

  • what are those little tubes on the bottom of the snowbird?

  • The little tubes carry the diesel fuel from the 2 tanks under the belly to the exhaust at the rear to create the smoke effect.

  • Never tire of watching these talented pilots. Are there any female pilots on the team yet?

  • To the best of my knowledge there has already been a female pilot on the team.

She is Maryse Carmichael and she joined the team in 2000.

  • Another question lol =P At 1:04 , I've seen that little "jerk" in the plane. Is that a signal for the soloists to cut off?

  • You got it, once #5 reaches a certain altitude and airspeed he rocks his wings and the solos break away. This is mostly to avoid the turbulent air from the jets in front and partly because it looks cool :)

  • wish i can join the team one day

  • hehe get to watch them tomorrow here in lovely Prince Rupert British columbia!

  • The smoke effect I believe is releasing hydrogen from the engine. A toggle control. The tubes underneath is where the weapons would be if not flying over 1000's of friendly's.

  • theres a part of the plane on the bottom it looks like bombs hehe

  • I just saw a show here in Quebec! It was wonderful... Im 12 years old and im proud to be Canadian also for making part of the 431 squadron, for being in the same squad of specially the captain of this snowbird team!At least in 2011 that women is named

    -COLONEL Maryse Carmichael (:

Btw if you live in quebec and you have seen planes flying that means that you just meated the snowbirds! (:

  • @PhysicsTowerTeam Man you wont to see the best Air Force demonstration team watch videos of the British Red Arrows or I think they are the Royal Air Force Red Arrows. They do stuff that I see no other demo squads doing

  • @PhysicsTowerTeam Im from the U.S. by the way and we have a yearly air show at the air force base near here and usually we have either have the Thunderbirds or the Blue Angels every year as the main thing we had also been having the Snowbirds coming as well. Well this year I guess the neither the Thunderbirds or the Blue Angels thought we were worth it but the Snowbirds still came lol.

  • @highflya9290 Oh yeah, they also added high performance engines too just for the SnowBirds :P

  • @highflya9290 Good. "If it ain't broken, don't fix it!" ;)
