Mantovani And His Orchestra: My Cup Runneth Over (Schmidt / Jones, 1966)

From the LP "The Mantovani Touch: Mantovani And His Orchestra," issued in 1968 on the London label, serial number PS 526. "My Cup Runneth Over" was written by Harvey Schmidt with lyrics by Tom Jones, and was featured in the 1966 Broadway musical, "I Do! I Do!," which starred Robert Preston and Mary Martin.

Haven't played my Mantovani LPs in many years. Hearing this again reminded me of why I bought them - pure pleasure. Incidentally, in my view the best recorded vocal version of this song is by, of all people, Max Bygraves!

The first time i heard this instrumental version, wow, i was in awe! My favorite version with vocals is the one by the Ray Conniff singers, but this is the best instrumental version!
