King's Lynn was once a very busy junction, with the main line to Cambridge and London and branches to East Dereham (via Swaffham), Hunstanton and King's Lynn Docks. The only passenger service remaining is the electrified line to London. The Hunstanton branch fell to the Beeching axe. The line to East Dereham was truncated at Middleton and is now used solely for the quarry traffic (high quality sand for glass manufacture). The Docks branch, although mostly still in place, is now only used for reversing the mineral trains. Note the small semaphore signal on the Middleton branch. The Hunstanton branch used to curve away sharply to the left near here, but has been replaced by a cycle track. There is a bit of road traffic noise, as this was made at a busy crossing, but with the barriers down, you can enjoy the sound of a GM diesel engine (turn up the volume). The class 66 loco is still in the nice EWS livery (based on the Wisconsin Central colours). I haven't seen any in the DB Schenker livery yet.
I hope you enjoy this video. If anybody is interested in views of the town of King's Lynn, please look for City Trails on the Barriculum channel. Thank you.
I work at the adjacent Morrisons store and our smoking area is right next to the area where the train switches end. Multiple times of the day that train make 1 hell of a noise.

Thanks Harry,
I've now amended the info re. East Dereham and Swaffham. As to the destination, I believe it is Monk Bretton, near Barnsley in South Yorkshire, but I am not 100% sure as I think there may be other traffic destinations in the northwest. I would welcome further info.
Thanks for watching,
Mervyn
