  • There are some backing aids you can use to make that job easier. Flashlight cones and spotter with pre approved signals you swing your light wide for stop light up and down for all good keep comming. When I was a trucker I used cones I would set one tilted on the other when the trailer backed to the cone I would knock the top cone off the bottom you knew you landed it perfectly exactly where you wanted it. Sometimes I placed a light on the cone if visibility was bad.

  • Make small corrections ? really ! The proper way to backup anything is,

As you start to backup, use your mirrors and watch which way the trailer goes. Turn your steering wheel in that direction to correct the trailers direction. Once the trailer is headed in the direction you want it to go, just follow it. Try my advice next time you backup that Airstream. Trucker Bob

  • i usta live in san diego and arizona 94-96 i wanna buy a trailer and live in san diego

    4months/arizona 4months and mt hood 4months one day :0)

  • Thanks for the great tips! I plan to do a more detailed video on backing this year. We have learned a lot over the past few years -- no crunched metal yet. :-)

  • If you pull into a site and it is a blind side backing the way you entered don't try to do it that way if all you have to do is drive down the road and turn around. I rather turn around and back a city block to get to where I can back it in on the good side than try for a blind side. Take your time you can go slow many times but goo too fast only once.

  • Backing tips. 1.proper mirror asjustment.2.get out and look.3.helpers wave light 3 to 9 =all stop.4use lights place them where you can see them and not be blinded.5.Practice when its day out learn your eqquipment while it is light so you will get the feel while you are fresh and level headed. 6 if you are too tired to get the job done safely say so and opt for a spot that you just pull into until you are up to the task. Some nights I did this as a professional trucker its a lot cheaper this way.

  • backing up,hand on the bottom of the steering wheel annd move your hand the way you want the trailer to go and slight movements
