(At least I think it wasn't an insult). It's not surprising though that games on the PSP look like PS2 games sometimes, since the hardware in the PSP is somewhat comparable to the hardware in the PS2 (Frequency clocks and available memory are very similar for example, with the PSP having a slight edge (Yep, it does.))

Of course not. Look at God of War 2. Its a PS2 game, but it looks really awesome.

Well, the starting bits are using ingame assets - the game is on the psp.

It's surprising but the PSP does render graphics that look like that in 480*272 pixels resolution. You see jaggies in the games because the screen is a 480*272 display, therefore the pixels are fairly large compared to a TV or computer monitor and can be seen easily when playing a game. These in game assets were rendered on a computer and filmed for the trailer, but they will look just the same in the game when you will play it.
It does look really good.
