WTF? so because of a weather delay this guy is complaining? NOBODY should've got a refund for that flight, they should be happy to be alive. I'd rather land and stay on the ground for 2 days if it's because of very bad weather. Ugh, people just want to make a quick buck and complain about anything and everything these days.

@f1lmbuff no one was held there against there will...they were all given two chances to get off the plane....

he is such a lil bitch!! People like that need to drive everywhere they go and not fly !!

Totally agree with you and the media just loves the story...

It is in no other industry that is so highly regulated yet faces so much criticism where people and media openly complain demanding attention. 70 MPH winds with a runway closure and you didn't get there on time? WTH I think you should get a refund, personally apology from the CEO and a $100 credit...oh you did?!GOOD JOB VIRGIN! THANK YOU FOR MY MONEY AND SAFE TRAVELS DESPITE THE MAJOR STORM!

OMG he had to SIT for a LONG TIME! To hell with all those terrorist hostages and women in islamic countries who get there faces bashed in with rocks for getting raped...this man's ordeal was the REAL tragedy!

Land of the free until you want a...... cookie, then we through your ass in jail.

"We heard that there was 70 MPH crosswinds. There was no way a small A319 can land there, when 747 can."
Really? British Airways flt 177, a B747, was diverted to IAD the same day for the same reason. JFK pretty much shut down departures and arrivals during that time. My friend was on American and took him 26 hours to get to JFK from SFO that day and most of it was spent on a 767. This guy needs to get his facts straight before he make a random statement.

The passengers were offered the option of deplaning 2 times. After that it was the AIRPORT MANAGEMENT NOT VIRGIN that would not let anymore people off the airplane. David has said this numerous times. What you have here is someone using an unfortunate even beyond Virgin's control to advertise his website for financial gain. That all it is.

Agree the flight crew was stressed as were the passengers. Still there is no excuse for holding them on the plane at Stewart for 5 hrs and not allowing deboarding.
It is good that Martin was able to get the attention of the Virgin management, but how long before airlines prohibit the use of iphones while waiting on the tarmac?
David Martin should stop being such a little b****. Try imagining being part of the flight crew having to put up with people like David for 16 hours. Instead, Martin does the circuit trying to get publicity for his "social network company" while masking as a victim. Pathetic.
