About two-and-a-half minutes into the second movement of Brahms' fourth symphony, there is is incredible passage which I think is the most beautiful in all music. Hard to describe, but the violins start to play triplets in pizzicato.

My father raised me on classical music and I played piano as a child, but it's taken me a long time to truly fall in love with classical. This particular piece was one of the first I connected to, so I'm glad to know others feel the same! I also adore Tchaikovsky's 'Juin Barcarolle' (particularly the moment when the left hand begins to sing- you know it when you hear it). Arvo Part's 'Fur Alina' is also wonderful; my favorite part is when the bass plays just one note that reverberates.
