Actually, you don't necissarily have your 'inside' hand too low for the spins, especially if the horse isn't exclusively used for reining. If you put both hands that low, her head would've been a little better, and tuck her nose a little to the inside so she used her shoulders properly :) But very good considering! I've been showing reining for 3 years now and I didn't get any scores until this year, so I think that was pretty decent.

@Cowgwen lol np.. i think alot of people these days are blind. like you are clearly holding them in both :)
-
I thought you weren't allowed to touch your saddle?
Anyway, thank you all for the comments, but as I have written before, I had to ride this horse for a demonstration, a horse I had only ridden the day before for the first time, me still being a beginner at reining and the horse, a lesson horse, not at all intensively trained for reining exclusively, so we were not really a good "team" at that particular time.

We are saying that's what you should do for spins and stops. We are saying you don't do it in the video

Please!!!!! I'd like to keep on arguing with you all 'bout this but I'm riding this horse with BOTH HANDS!!!!
If you think you see something else, pls tell me where in the video (min sec), because you are all seeing things that I can't :p

@Cowgwen You hold the reins in one hand and have your other hand touch the saddle, as horselover said.

I don't quite follow. Are we talking 'bout the same video here? Because I'm riding with two hands the whole time... But I will agree that I'm holding my inside hand to low in the "spins". I don't see where I'm touching the saddle though... Anyway, this video is already some years ago, You should see me today :)

@Cowgwen. you hold them in one hand! and the other hand goes straight down, touching the saddle!
