Shame to see another piece of Great British history sat idle & rotting away. It's an utter sin they allowed the Olympic (Titanic's sister) to be scrapped in 1935, think of how much money they could have made with her today! Look at our aircraft industry too, a Hawker Siddely Trident 3B rots at Teeside airport, A Vickers Viscount in Moreton-in-Marsh and all our Concordes now simple meuseum exhibits. Very very sad that our children will only ever get to see the sad ramains of our neglect.

@Jackjones93 ..... Its not sealed in concrete at all only in sand. It is kept looking that way for a good reason to attract the attention it needs in its battle with the council. Noone would be bothered about her if she looked all nice and looked after would they?

What a waste!

I believe the ship is going to be dismantled this year (2011).

Worked on this ship in the middle 60s with my good friend, crossing from Belfast to Heysham. Had I great time, shame to see it going to rot.

@interfaceboyz I remember it on the Heysham route along with the Duke of Argyle when I was a teenager.
FYI the Hull of the ship was NOT sealed in concrete, info was taken from wiki and i should have known better LOL.
Please some one help the Duke, the longer it's left the more work it'll need. This is a part of British maritime history being neglected. The age of Steam being forgotten. Its VERY sad.
