Just some footage put togather of events leading up to the invasion of Russia. Includes music from the game Medal of Honor : Allied assault.

Footage downloaded from http://www.archive.org/

The music fits magically in some spots, and doesn't fit with the video at all in others, but I enjoyed it.

  • That the Russians suffered hell and did most of the fighting in Europe in 1941-1945 is a fact. But we must also remember that:

    - Until 1941, the USSR was allied with the Nazis. In the 1930s, it was in the USSR that the 1st German submarines were built, and the 1st Luftwaffe pilots trained. USSR co-invaded Poland in 1939, and provided Germany with all raw material & fuel for the Blitzkrieg in western Europe.

    - The British convoys in the Arctic sea suffered hell, too, to support the Russians.

  • Stalin also committed the 2nd biggest genocide in history, second to Mao. Beating the nazi genocide count. You are very right to say that there is more then one side to the russian (and everyone else pretty much) contribution

  • Nope, that's not true. Any documents don't proove that. If we talk about Stalin we can say that he is resposible for death of the same amount people as J.W.Bush. Of course he was not an angle but those times was much more harder.

  • There are countless 'documents' that prove a mass genocide went on during his time. Was it his fault? If not, then it shows inability to control his country, but I think it was generally his doing. And trust me, the cost of lives from all the bushs combined is far less than stalin (perhaps 5%?)

  • @Gliiidter The biggest genocide was made by American colonist. They killed 100 million people.

  • @silabanak True. Although there were cases of intentional disease transmission, I don't think it was entirely intended. But I guess the same defense could also be used for Mao, as his stupidity and arrogance led to 50+ million deaths due to starvation, etc.

  • It wasn't Stalin's or the Soviet Governments fault so many of their people died. Take into account how much destruction the Germans caused. Almost all of the farms and food supply in Russia was wiped out. And those sent to the Gulags deserved it. They were traitors, conspiritors, terrorists, spies, ect.

  • it was, cuz stalin sent hella people to Siberia almost for nothing even inocent people

  • Stalin killed a lot of polish people, basically the whole Gov - Which is why he made his own polish Gov so that people wouldn't know what he did - However, as we all know the truth came out in the end. That being said, Soviet did a whole lot more than the US and Brits did, combined. So save us the "We're the US, if it wasn't for us you'd all be dead". The only thing you did was getting hammered at PH, executing a landing at a beach, and testing 2 nuclear bombs on people.

  • @Gliiidter genocide is an deliberate attempt to kill of a specific race.. stalin mainly just killed people who opposed him so i believe it would be incorrect to label it as a genocide

  • @Gliiidter Stalin was a disgusting genocidal man. But Mao Zedong? There is an enormous difference the deaths each were responsible for. Notable, Stalin killed people on purpose; the forced starvation of Ukraine was certainly a genocide. However, the starvation that resulted from the Mao Zedong's misguided policies were certainly no genocidal.

  • awsome video...people should be watching this ..specially around remembrance day...

  • And, Bomber Command was wiping out German industry.

  • A fucking shit load of Hurricanes, that's what...

  • Gliiidter; Good job putting this together. I really enjoyed the effect the music has on the historical footage. Thanks!

  • O-oooo no sweety! December5, 1941- German attack on Moscow is abandoned!

This was first defeat of German army! OR- may be British stopped them in Moscow, or perhaps Americans.

plus, what aircraft did british give russians? You need to go see doctor and check your head! Learn history!!!
