  • I'm pretty sure my first time conducting without any education was better than this...

  • It looks like the baton has a mind of it's own and it's taking his arm in random directions LOL

  • @Greasemunky04 Expert Village. Training people wrong on purpose since... well, if this is the kind of crap they put out why should I bother to look up how long they've been in existence...

  • im confused as to what your point is here. the extreme majority of conductors are highly trained instrumentalists. intimate knowledge of music is required. Are you kidding? give any orchestra 6 months to learn to play in time with each other, don't assume that everyones tempo is uniform. it also takes time for percussion at the back to reach the front of the stage, they rely on the baton for time keeping. players hardly look at the conductor because there is 6 months of work done prior.

  • Consider:

    a) the Orpheus has no conductor: there are others in Russia

    b)Itzhak Perlman has downplayed conductors

    c) watch any utube video: the players virtually NEVER even look at the conductor

d)And finally, give any orchestral player of -- who has never studied conducting -- 6 months to learn to conduct the Beethoven violin concerto. Then give any conductor -- who has never studied the violin -- 6 months to learn to PLAY the Beethoven concerto ;)

As they say in the law Res Ipsa Loquitur

  • Beating hands is right!!! BAHAHAHA! expert village is bollocks!

  • this man in a song writer.. In my orchestra should be fired after 2 min. rehearsal.
