@iRYANMB and shooting ranges cost money, and real rounds cost money. Good cheap practice with snap caps.

But there isn't any recoil from snap caps, so this helps you to refrain from trying to compensate for that recoil. A lot of people dry fire, but this is better than dry firing because it won't damage the firing pin.

They make shooting ranges where you actually shoot real rounds for practice.

did you record this video with a close hanger?

keep pressing 3 and he will keep saying gay

And all this time I've been calling them "clips"

interesting vid, although i'd suggest the following:
1. Buy more all-metal snap caps to completely fill the two magazines you use (I like the A-Zoom brand) having a mag filled with those more closely approximates the weight of actual cartridges.
2. Use your index finger to "index" the magazine you are inserting.
3. Don't start your drill with the slide locked back. Start with the slide forward and add correctly racking the slide to your dry fire drill.

So basically it's just real firearm, but fake ammo?

thats kinda how i train with my M&P40 except i only use 2 snap caps with 2 mags(one in each) i think it helps me also train reloading speed.
when i go to the range i put one round in each mag, set the mags in front of me and put the gun in my holster. then i would do 5 rounds of this for each set/target(10 shots total)

Thank you for posting this! I'm going to be needing to do a lot of this since I just purchased my first gun. (Kimber Ultra Aegis II).
Only thing, tho, as a gun newb who is absorbing all of the safety stuff with guns, I'd heard it was always best to use a proper backstop for dryfiring exercises -- even though you know the gun is unloaded or know you just loaded that mag with snap caps, the "magical teleporting round" theory my basic pistol class teacher said thing... :)
Thanks!!
