I'm sorry my friend but Salsa is more than timming and spinning. We do not need to count and spin. Salsa for us, puertoriqueños and cubanos is sensuality, feeling & dance from our soul. The Merengue, Salsa and Bachata you learn in commercial schools and you see around here is another thing. We grew up with Salsa, Son, Guajira, Guaguanco, Merengue and Bachata.I encourage you to visit PR or Cuba, and dance with the "caballotes".

Actually, this guy doesn't know what he is talking about. There aren't a lot of drunk people and the soldiers who go there are actually Hispanic and have rhythm and know how to move. Salsa isn't all turns and spins. I wish that people wouldn't be so negative and just enjoy dancing.

There were a lot of really good salsa places when I was living in Korea around Hundai dep. like Gachi, la salsa etc. macondo is a terrible place, an american navi place.
-
To Get to Macondo Go to Hong-ik Subway Station. (Line #2) Go out of exit #4, turn right, to the end of the block. the road splits on the left into a V. Take the left furthest from you. Macondo is on that street. A pink and white sign.

i have been an avid Macondo goer for years. in the beginning the club was quite good. lots of great dancers but i have seen the dancing decline over the past year. i found it not as stuck up and full of pre-madonna, robotic like dancers. when i was going to Son Bar more often i found that it was a nice middle ground, "homestyle dancers" people who feel the music and "robot dancers" people who dance to the counts. regardless of the club you choose, bring yourself and your own style.

hi^^ how far is son from myong dong?
can we drive there?

Basically, on all "off-nights," son has the most people/best dancers. On hot nights like wed, fri, sat, follow my guide. If you are a serious dancer - even a beginner/intermediate level, you WILL NOT be dissapointed.
-
For some serious salsa clubs, here is the listing for hot clubs on these nights. If anybody knows, I know.
Monday - Son (On2 gathering)
Tuesday - Son or Havana
Wednesday - Gachi or Mambo
Thursday - Son
Friday - Bonita, then Havana
Saturday - Turn, hands down.
Sunday - Son
This place is a really great club. small friendly atmosphere. Everyone seems to be in the same great open-minded salsa-mood. I had not idea how to salsa before going here, but everyone welcomed me in. I do not remember where it was, but it may have been hongdea.
