Veterans return home to find employees wary of sleepless soldiers and their struggles. Brian Jacobson's fast food job didn't wait for him. Spc. Efran Martinez may not have a job, but he has a Purple Heart.

  • Bitter pill. Soldiers were sold a line about patriotism only to discover that the Country they were willing to fight and die for doesn't give a shit about them.

  • I"m a Afghan vet and the public really don't want you in there businesses. They think were all mentally f*ed up in the head... poilice in cali won't hire combat vets. POGS have free reign in that field.

  • I did two combat deployments to Iraq as a Machinegunner in the Marine Corps, and I couldn't get a freaking job to save my life when I got out.... Some Bull Sh$%.

  • lol put his fast food job on hold ahahahahhahahahha. hes a highschool dropout that had no other choice cause he fucked up in life. im joinin the marines but im no drop out.

  • @rookieru A year late, but politicians only use the soldiers for political capital. They care nothing about the soldiers, and only play lip service to them. I'm not saying that soldiers should be a privileged class, but I hate being used as political leverage by the ruling class. As far as I'm concerned, the government stabbed its troops in the back by sending them to wars that they had no intention of winning.

  • @rookieru you have to understan that bush and obama are just puppets of the elite's!

  • @rookieru LOL You voted for Barack Obama? Here's a tipL If mainstream media focuses heavily on a particular candidate, then that candidate is bought and paid for by the financial oligarchs and corporations. Look into Ron Paul. He'll offer REAL change that America needs!

  • Michael is a true hero...I wish we would have had him around in Vietnam...

  • I have to agree with you on that but until spoiled america gets atacked for real, and don't mean a one day terror attack. They will never learn. I think most of them still think its just another TV show that will never happen here.

  • Another problem is that the 10 point prefrence for civil service jobs was just more bull shit and is not honored at all. I applied for a few civil service jobs and was suprised when I found out some firend of the guy doing the hiring got hired who never served a day in his life at all instead of god knows how many vets with so called 10 point preferences got spit on so I gave up on that venture.

  • Why did the story only speak about those whose jobs were flipping burgers? Many of us have college degrees, including enlisted side. Yeah its hard to get a job considering the high rate of employment discrimination. Despite that we have to continue on.

  • This really is BS. The vets I know from this war are doing grimy work making little pay, and dealing with major baggage on top of it all. If I ever meet anyone from the Bush administration or even Obama for that matter I will spit directly in their face for these guys and the way they were stabbed in the back. I voted for BO, but he's not living up to what he said he'd do for our troops or for us. Think of how many homeless Vietnam vets we saw on the streets growing up. Deja Vu!
