On December 10th, 2007, Master Lee underwent an extensive examination to receive his seventh-degree black belt. The video to your left shows Master Lee demonstrating the techniques of power breaking.
Power breaking in the martial arts typically involves pitting the human body (feet, arms, forearms, etc.) against bricks or cinderblocks, although some martial artists use wood, stone, ice, and various other materials. The purpose of practicing power breaking is twofold: first, martial artists learn to apply immense force at an exact spot, and second, they harden and strengthen the bones and musculature of their bodies to withstand crushing force. Although the exact circumstances of power breaking are unlikely to show up in any actual confrontation, the fact that a martial artist has practiced it will make him or her both more confident and more able to handle the stresses of combat.
