  • Great tutorial! PHP MySQL frameworks such as wizzyweb.com can also be helpful

  • Dude, you may know much but you make this so heavy by talking that much. Consider talking only the neccesary.

  • Still waiting for issue #2!!!

  • "The official way to pronounce MySQL is My Ess Que Ell (not my sequel), but we do not mind if you pronounce it as my sequel or in some other localized way. "

This is from the main Mysql web site, by the way.

  • i VOTE 4 "sequel" hehe...and dude..c'mon! who cares how its pronounced... d important thing is you understand how it works! DUH!@.@

  • are you stupid or crazy?

  • you don't understand.

you can say it however you want but know that there is an official way of pronouncing it.

the thing you were talking about SEQUEL was the IBM language, it was changed or shortened to SQL but still pronounced the same way.. and then MySQL came out and it did not have the same pronunciation..

now people say that SQL is pronounced ES QUE ELL - just deal with it. i have read this in books and online and heard it from pros.

  • Actually, you're wrong. SQL was a database language developed by IBM years ago. IT was NEVER pronounced "sequel" officially because of some legal thing on a name taken already. People pronounce it however the heck they want so it doesn't matter. Either way you know what I'm talking about.

  • sorry. you are wrong. SQL (se quel) is something from years ago.. it is old. not in use anymore. was a database language but i am sure you would rather use MySQL - My S Q L - it is superior technology. you use both pronunciations for MySQL? You use old SQL pronounciation for the new thing? so you are unsure of yourself,,,, right? or maybe you're not. i donno..you donno.. doesn't matter.. i guess.. or does it matter? probably not. nope. wait.. nah no n a o
  • "dude i am a newbie"...

which is exactly why you think that.

    *my *Se*quel

    that's Three syllables.

    *my *es *cue *el

    that's Four syllables.

The programmer is inherently lazy. Gain some laziness and come back and complain.

Me, I use both pronunciations. It makes little difference to me but when you try to correct something that's not even wrong I get a little ticked.
