lyrics:
I was sad enough last Saturday, I woke you to talk but you didn't have much to say. You came to to two cherry cokes, came to to coke. In the morning, when the wind is still warm, and the rivers still coming and following. The Astor hotel is black in the windows, black in the hall. Since we left separately. A country letter, straight from a widow: come in the nighttime, to the back porch, throw rocks at my window, and climb the terrace to the landing. This house built cleverly for you and me. (you sound like young love)

  • @BrokenBowsTX because transit is good and their version of never meant is decent.

  • @EVITTS570 *versions not covers

  • i dig both covers, i don't hate on peoples music taste..music is an expression of ones self

TPR and Man O both have a spot in my playlist

  • How can people hate on Man Overboard for covering this but not say a word when Transit covered American Football?

  • @gomer1021 Although I must admit I've driven myself crazy trying to figure out any Promise Ring song, and most Cap'n Jazz songs....I believe that he's being literal when he says 'came to to two cherry cokes"....however in a later song on this album, he mentions outgrowing a shirt from to many sodas...so who the fuck knows. I'm convinced this whole albums based on sex, love, and pot. That's just me though....

  • Being a Man Overboard fan and a Promise Ring fan I really think everyone on here should just calm down. Both bands deserve respect, they are both talented whether the more stubborn of you are willing to admit it or not. So everyone just listen to the song and don't pick sides because clearly there are no sides to be taken here.

  • If there were cool people on here, they would respect both versions...

  • It's okay to like the cover guys

  • what's the meaning of the cherry coke line?

  • To each their own, but this is one of my favorite albums and no other band can cover the songs in it without sounding like complete ass to me.
