Warcon's official Marrow of a Bone lyric translations are a mess. Whole words have been left out, kanji misread... I've retranslated Namamekashiki Ansoku, Tamerai ni Hohoemi from the Japanese kanji provided. Of course, I am by no means mandating my translation as absolute, but, I hope that this makes more sense than the English translation provided with the American/European MoaB CD. If something is unclear, an image pack is available for download. // I feel illiterate, I can't believe some of the typos I made...please disregard them.

  • holy hell, thank you for posting this!

my band has been looking to do a cover of this song, (i do vocals) and needless to say we want to do it in english, but for the life of me I couldn't figure out hte vocal pattern due to the translation... The vid makes it so much easier!

  • :) Hehe, no problem at all. I'm glad it was of some use -- even though this first translation has a few mistakes.

  • Who made this translation? It was difficult, wasn't it?

It may be useful for many people even though I can see some mistakes.

  • I translated it, actually. And yeah, it was pretty difficult, seeing as Kyo uses about one pronoun in the entire song (I have a feeling that he enjoys being vague). I apologize for the mitakes -- I'm not sure what I was thinking when I was revising the video. An update version of the translation/video is available in my profile (though, due to sunkrad's evil diminion, it has no sound) -- with less mistakes, hopefully.

  • That's cool.

Once I tried translating this song too! My problem was how to put the words into English. I can understand the lyrics because I'm Japanese, but I realised how vague they were as I was thinking of translation for each sentence.

Please don't worry about mistakes :D

I could send you my version of translation if you want.

  • OMG... *mistakes (I'm usually so anal retentive when it comes to grammar and spelling -_-)

    Sure, that'd be awesome! :D

  • Is it just me or Is the text not showing up in this video?

Also the text is fine on the other video, but there is no sound?

  • Is it just me or are the lyrics and translation not showing up on this video, and the sound is not showing up on the other video?

  • ^o^ i love this song *3* diruuu (^o^)/

  • Also, some common phrases like "Iki wo koroshi" were misinterpreted. This phrase was said to mean "Kill my breath" when it actually means 'bated breath...'

There's quite a few common errors. And yeah, you would like to think Kyo might look over the translation, but I sincerely doubt that he would care enough to. You might notice that the translations, in contrast to Kyo's english lyrics, really don't make much of any sense.
