  • thank you for the comment it was the cotter pin in the flange part of the motor the wheel with moving back and forth on the flange making the noise

  • how far away is the blower from the organ? is it in a basement?

  • first floor about 7 feet below (hey you can still see the peddles from before the it was take to elec)

  • Thisis a tubular pneumatic organ. The bricks are to regulate the pressure that blows the pipes. You should NEVER run a blower wide open. The strain is too great for the motor as you found out. Use a vacuum cleaner to remove the dust from the chest. Wash the flue pipes to get the dust out. Use a compressor to clean out the wood pipes. DO NOT wet the reed stops. These look like trumpets. The organ needs releathering to make it work again. Do not damage those lead tubes.

  • we purchased our building with the stain glass and pipe organ our goal is to someday (soon we hope) have the organ repaired if you know a company or person, in the area, i would love to visit and discuss our options. thank you again for your advice

  • Did you find a company to help you rebuild the organ or do repairs? If not, where are you?

  • Marvelous little organ yo have there. I have been trying to get someone to sponsor/donate a space for me to build one here in AZ, but no luck. How blessed you are to have one there. I would help you, but I am far away. It looks old and well built. I would suggest not altering it, but preserving it, tubular-pneumatics and all. So good to hear someone who appreciates organs like I do!

  • Looks like a server rack

  • "Burned out the blower"? . Sounds like you might have a "grand mal" leak somewhere along the main wind trunk and unless it's fixed, you'll burn out your next blower or motor. Some times large leaks can make the least amount of noise. Yes, it appears you have a "Tuburcular Rheumatic" action pipe organ (as we jokingly called them). I've ripped out a few of these old actions. Some eggheads will try to convince you to spend big bucks saving the "T.P. action" . It's usually not worth it.

  • I would, in my opinion recommend the best man for the job, Gill Adams.
