We've finished up The Divine Orlando, and are preparing to go up to Sonoma tomorrow
for our summer workshop for adult choral singers( this year a record number of participants -
over 70!) we are reminded that it was only last month that we were in China. One of the patrons who travelled with us sent this video we wanted to share with you of us singing the Chinese folk song "Molihua" at the Shanghai Conservatory with He Xiao Nan, who was drafted by Matt to perform with us and showed us a thing or two! We're excited to be going back to Shanghai in June 2010 as part of a San Francisco delegation to the International Exposition. We'll see our friends at the Conservatory again!

Bravi!
It's so rare to hear foreign singers perform Chinese songs!
Your pronunciation is really good. I wouldn't tell the difference. At 00:16 it sounds like dialect in jiangnan but that's where the song originated.

the song is well done but it would be a notch better if u guys work more on the chinese pronounciation .... that would bring out the authentic flavour in song ... and also chinese viewers would pick on your diction ..... this would apply to any other asian songs which may not have to be chinese cos china isn't the only country in asia

I just ushered at your Vassar concert. I really, really appreciate the fact that you do Chinese-language rep and bring exposure to it. it's great stuff. your performance of Chen Yi's Spring Dreams was incredible.
