Steve was only half-joking when he said that the show was coming from the Aragon Ballroom.
George Kirby was a famous and well-like Chicago comedian. Steve grew up on the south side of Chicago along with the great Richard Kiley. The Aragon was a famous entertainment spot until the late 1960's. Many a live radio show emanated from there.
The final commercial is missing at 7:35. The "network I.D." shown at 8:28, with a "pre-recorded" disclaimer, was usually inserted at the end of these black & white kinescope films, whether the programs were originally presented "live" or "pre-recorded". In the original transmission, the regular CBS logo slide (with the letters in the pupil), against a blue background, was shown, with a staff announcer noting, "This is CBS".
