It is possible to crack the older garage door operner which uses fixed code pattern. Different manufacturers may use different bit length and duration.
Newer devices after late '90s change to rolling code. It is impossible to crack the code by scanning the transmission pattern in one specific operation because the code pattern changes in each instance. A scanning device can read the pattern of one transmission. The receiver expects a new code next time. The hacked code will simply be ignored.
