  • As someone who goes to private school and has been to a state-run school, there are many more benefits in the private school, like smaller classes, better teachers and I find that there is more freedom. However, there are longer days and more homework. And the most annoying thing? School on Saturdays..... god.....

  • @skkhan i agree with your point of view that not all the same

But i dont agree with you that parents are not the teachers , infact parents and especially mother is the first teacher and home in the first school.

I want to say: Teachers are not parents.

  • Assalamu Alaikum,

As a public school teacher and a very concerned parent of a 6 and a 4 year old I appreciate the discussion. I think it is important, though, to not stereotype all schools at once. Some public schools can be great (if parents are involved and the community is morally conscious) and some kids may have really poor education at home with parents who are not teachers. In my research, I have found that the home enviornment and the level of practice of parents are KEY!

  • @dodgevipercool NOT TRUE!

  • I am Personally Homeschooled now and in 2 simple months I have learned more than I had in the past. For, In 6 simple months in public school all I learned was how to be harrassed and the problems of others. Teachers MOST DEFINATELY were NOT willing to move me ahead and now I am instantly learning more! Amen!

  • Masha ALLAH I Love how her confidence radiates from her voice. She feels so confident and that is So Important as a Mother.. Allhamdullila May Allah Bless her heart and her family and keep them strong in the Right Path. Ameeen

  • @DustyTreasures Just because you homeschool doesn't mean children or parents are shut up at home all day. That's public school thinking since it takes them all day from 8-4 to teach what your kids can learn at home in a few hours or less.

  • Masha'Allah great lecture! Keep them coming.

  • Are there any organization/s in Canada who are willing to undertake this private (or homeschooling with a group of children) initiative, or even thinking about this option? I'd be more than happy to volunteer my time. Can someone provide some info. on this please? Thankyou.
