Shimatani Hitomi - Farewell

This is the second track on her single 'Yasashii KISS no Mitsukekata', which itself is a fairly interesting song. Farewell definitely fits in well with Hitomi's earlier pop releases, which unfortunately also means that her vocals take a bit of a beating. That makes it particularly important that the background music is of a good quality, and in this case I think that the song gets it. The overall quality, yet relative simplicity of this song fuels my conviction that this is one of the better ones she released in her early career.
