hi. I loved Life on Mars too. I am from NYC and they filmed that show right here, check out my video about the show if you want. I wish they would have brought that show back for a second season. I don't know why ABC dumped it so quickly.

I love this show, and who knows, maybe sci-fi will pick it up and this ending will of been a strange black out or something. The one thing I can't remember though is the phrase Hunt and Sam exchanged, Whatever strange place you land..and that's all I remember of it. If anyone knows of the whole phrase, lemme know, lol.

i havent watched the american version but i have seen clips of it and the trailer. it annoyed me at first, as it was obvious that it had been copied from the original uk series but i have to this conclusion with it. for anyone that likes the american version i can tell you this you either like it for the same reason my parents like the uk version or because like me you relate to sam tyler. it just seems a shame to me that things need to be copied like this instead of new ideas being created :/

i'm a 16 year old living in the uk and i watched the uk version when it first came on tv. i also watched it with my parents who liked it for the same reason you like the american version, because they could relate to that time era. However i liked it for a differant reason, perhaps because i thought i could relate to sam tyler himself, maybe those hormonal teenage attitudes made me think i could relate to him by believing i had it all bad? i dont know, i just know i love the uk series.

I just finished all 17 shows from netflix. Yes the ending was abit disappointing but you have tounderstand the show was canceled for a season 2. At lease the producers gave us an ending. Maybe not an ending this show truly deserved but some closure for the viewer. We never got closure from Fash Forward and The Event, Turly robbed by the network canceling this awesome show. Im not disapponted with what Life on Mars prodeucers did for the viewer

Just watched the entire series on DVD. Had never heard of the show before. I absolutely loved it. So much that I would stay up all night watching it back to back. And I personally loved the ending.. It was a total shock I had to watch the end 3 times to believe it was the same show. It was a perfect ending that answered every question. Awesome awesome awesome series. I am now half way through the UK series and loving it also.

I miss this show. That's why I watch Terra Nova. My favorite character was Ray Carling and of course Sam. It would have been great to see the second season become a bit more mysterious.
It's a bittersweet ending but it was not what I expected.

First show in a long time I actually looked forward to seeing, since, proably 1973!!! ABC screwed up big time not keep Life On Mars....
-
I was born in July 1973, the exact month that the single for Life on Mars by Bowie was released. (Apparently, the song was around since '71). So, for that admittedly cheesey reason, this series had particular significance for me. I mean, this takes place exactly when I came to consciousness.

Life on Mars in the US would of been a hit if ABC would of promoted it properly. This was the best TV show to come to the states in years and ABC trashed it. Outstanding acting, outstanding cinematography, a great soundtrack and incredibly realistic settings. ARE YOU READING THIS ABC execs? You screwed up royally!!! Bring back LIFE ON MARS!!!

I loved the show i wished it wouldn't have ended loved it and missed the show

You think think that the US version was good watch the UK version the US version is shite and the ending is poor
Agreed, this show was interesting and I looked forward every week. It challenged the viewer to think of other possibilities and different dimensions. Problem is that most people would rather watch another comedy or cop show. Two other shows along these lines that did not make it were New Amsterdam and Due South.

I agree with Micheal. This was a series that made you open up to what it was really like in '73. At the beginning I found myself hating "Ray", but by the end I really liked him.
I get it. They build us up to a happy ending only to rip out the carpet from under us by pulling another "Bobby Ewing" slept through the whole thing.
We want more. What a drag. Maybe SciFi Network will pick it up just like Eli Stone.

Is Eli Stone on Sci Fi?

You're such a douchebag, you probably watch American Idol and Grey's anatomy.
Life on mars was very entertaining and it was very different from ever other show you see on tv.
Shows how ignorant and closed minded you are, since you and a bunch of brain dead idiots want to see the same kind of shows with the same kind of drama over and over again.
