Allen Guelzo talks about his book, "Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation," at the National Archives in Washington, DC. Mr. Guelzo refutes eight myths surrounding President Lincoln and the freeing of the slaves. He argues that several parts of the original document have been misunderstood and taken out of context. The author answers questions from the audience following the discussion.
The charge of racism against Lincoln is ironic in that it is a tribute to profound success of his political endeavor. When you stand on one side of political struggle, it is often impossible to comprehend how people back on the other end of the struggle, before it achieved it end, saw reality. How many people besides Reagan saw the imminent collapse of the Soviet Union as likely prospect? I didn't, & Reagan is the 1st man I ever voted for, I loved him. I can see what the pre-Lincoln USA was.

Some lunatics act like they just discovered some deep fucking secret that EP was" a war measure".
So the FUCK what? They were in a FUCKING WAR. That's what you do in war, take WAR MEASURES. For exctra clarity to you tards -- Lincoln SAID it was a war measure.
LIncoln had a DUTY and right to distrupt any fucking thing that helped the war effort of the slave rapers- baby sellers. Just as he could kick the shit out of their railroads, he could kick the shit out of their slave system.

This dickhead is all wet. The EP was merely a prelude to the 13th Amendment.
The 13th Amendment - which Lincoln personally got passed in Congress -- is the culmination, the climax. The EP was mere foreplay.
EP was needed to keep England out of the War, and to cause extra shit to the Confederacy. It did both-- perfectly.
