Linkin Park - High Voltage

You know what I mean
Try to put a label on a life
Put a label on a lifestyle (Sometimes)
You know, put a label on how you wake up every morning and go to bed at night (Alright)
I've been diggin' in the crates / ever since I was living in space
Before the rat race / before monkeys had human traits
I mastered numerology and big bang theology
Performed lobotomies with telekinetic psychology
Invented the mic so I could start blessing it
Chin-checking kids to make my point like an impressionist
Many men have tried to shake us
But I twist mic cords into double helixes and show them what I'm made of
I buckle knees like leg braces
Cast a spell of instrumentalness on all of you emcees who hate us
So you can try on / leave you without a shoulder to cry on / from now to infinity / let icons be bygons
A firebomb / ghostly notes haunt this
I tried threats, but moved on to a promise
I stomp shit / with or without an accomplice and
Run the gauntlet with whoever that wants this

High voltage
The unforgettable sound

High voltage
Bringin' you up and taking you down

High voltage
Comin' at you from every side

High voltage
Making the rhythm and rhyme collide

(Akira) I put a kink in the backbones of clones with microphones
And never satisfy my rhyme jonez
Spray in bright day over what you might say
My blood type's krylon / Technicolor type A
On highways, write with road rage
Pages of wind in cages of tin that bounce all around
Surround sound / devouring the scene
Subliminal gangrene paintings / over all the same thing
Sing-song karaoke copy bullshit
Break bones verbally with sticks-and-stone tactics
Fourth dimension combat convention
Write rhymes at ease while the track stands at attention
Meant to put you away / with a pencil pistol official
Sixteen-line / the rhyme missile
While you risk your all / I pick out all your flaws
Spittin' raw blah blah blah you can say you saw

High voltage
The unforgettable sound

High voltage
Bringin' you up and taking you down

High voltage
Comin' at you from every side

High voltage
Making the rhythm and rhyme collide

High voltage
The unforgettable sound

High voltage
Bringin' you up and taking you down

High voltage
Comin' at you from every side

High voltage
Making the rhythm and rhyme collide

I like to rock and rap, you know what I mean?
People are acting like, you know, "wow that's a new invention"
That shit thing, you know
We're constantly evolving
It is constantly changing (Sometimes)
There's a world of change
Everybody's always trying to put labels on it, there ain't no label for this shit
They always gotta try to put a label on it
Try to create something so they can water it down

Sometimes I feel like a prophet / misunderstood
Under the gun like a new disease

Sometimes I feel like a prophet / misunderstood
Under the gun like a new disease

High voltage
The unforgettable sound

High voltage
Bringin' you up and taking you down

High voltage
Comin' at you from every side

High voltage
Making the rhythm and rhyme collide

(x3)

You know what I mean? You can't put a label on a lifestyle.

  • do only i think that this version of high voltage is much better than the other version?

  • Ok just to clear things up: This is the High Voltage Remix (The second version) H! VLTG3 is the one on the Reanimation album (the third version) The original High Voltage Had a robot sound effect. If I find it in the depths of my PC I'll upload it. Also, that cover album is incorrect for this version of the song. This version was released with the Hybrid Theory EP.

  • the last chorus is x4 not x3

  • I like this version too.

  • @Cat4strof3 Oh great, another youtube fight. People put all capital letters to get their points across, really it only looks immature. And, this is High Voltage, not H! V1tg3. if you want to listen to H1 V1tg3, then follow this link and then tell me who the dumb ass is. The very first High Voltage was on Hybrid Theory demo CD with a robotic sound, just like GothikaGeist310 said. watch?v=1LOfRtYmhmQ&feature=related

  • @TheBigAngryHobo HEY DUMB ASS ! DATS WHY THEY ASKED! SO U GET UR FACTS STRAIGHT BEFORE U START PUTTING PEOPLE DOWN!

  • ma non sapete che high voltage la hanno vatta gli AC/DC nel 1976

  • UUGGGHHH!!!

can you guys just cut it out and listen to the damn music!

  • @lucash1990 No its not, your retarded. Linkin Park is the best, but this isn't H! V1tg3, this is the studio version of this song. There is a live one that is better. Know your facts before you start saying shit

  • This is H! V1tg3 by Linkin Park but I don't know if the original or not, the background music sounds different from the one I bought from Rhapsody, the one from Rhapsody is cleaner. It's still an amazing song though either way. Linkin Park is the best!
