Visit facebook/suwanneesprings to find out more about the springs and how to help save it......Suwannee Springs was one of Florida's original tourist destinations. The spring house was probably established around the time of the civil war. People came from all around the east coast to partake of the healing spring waters. From the Civil war to the 1920's the site had 4 hotels, a bath house, and many cottages. A special spur railroad line was established just to handle the tourist to the springs. The last hotel burned in 1925. Today the spring house , two cabins, a couple out buildings still (partly) remain. visit "facebook.com/suwanneesprings
