Stop Boring Hugh Laurie

As an American, I would like to point out that I do not watch House (watched the first season, then lost interest) but Instead appreciate Mr Laurie from things he has done in Britain, using his real accent. Some of my favorite (favourite) shows are Blackadder, Jeeves and Wooster, and A Bit of Fry and Laurie. I find it rather depressing that I seem to be the only one of my countrymen who can fathom that a British actor actually had a whole career IN THE UK before coming over here!

BLACKADDER! BLACKADDER!

@savvysearch Take Lucy Punch for example. She performed so well in "Bad Teacher" I was shocked to find out she is British and when I heard her speak with British accent at a press conference.

A lot of actors can do great american accents. It's not like Laurie's is the greatest anyone's ever done. The focus is just bizarre.

Talk show host: So, you are British aren't you?
Hugh: Yes, I am

If I was an actor, I would NOT go on talk shows in the US for this reason. II think I should end up telling the presenter to change the record, or just fuck off. I mean I think most people know he is from England, and if they don't, I don't know where they have been living for the last 5 years.

He is a very famous actor in England. It's so bothersome thats all anyone EVER wants to talk about is his American accent in House.

Isn't Fortysomething great? One of the overlooked shows Hugh is in. And A Bit is fantastic! Wish I could watch em for the first time again!
-
@Orlabobz that's what I've been doing lately. Watched all 6 episodes of Fortysomething and I'm starting on A Bit of Fry and Laurie today.

The real problem is that they do this with everyone. Every single guest on every show gets the same damn questions over and over again. It's especially annoying with people like Hugh Laurie and Michael C Hall. They are clever, interesting, talented people that just get asked the same crap over and over.
Seriously people... House is good, but Hugh Laurie is SO much more than that... What about his Blackadder days?!

Are you implying that talk shows are all the same vapid and banal crap? That is just so untrue.
