  • Love your car!!! Im finishing a 1969 mustang Restomod coupe. Im thinking in putting the gear vendor unit on my car. Is it worth it? My Mustang has a healthy 302 / C4 / 9 inch possi.

  • @elbichoportu

If I had to do it again I would install the new TCI 6 speed automatic. It will truly give you 6 gears. The gear vendor splits all 3 gears but it is very awkward. End result is you only end up using the overdrive for 3rd gear. I have had some issues with the control unit and had to pay big bucks for a new unit. I am still having trouble with it turning off the overdrive after I drive it for any appreciable distance. The TCI 6 speed is very costly but so is the gear vendor.

  • Awesome ride man, what radiator do you have in that? Did you have to do any work to the tranny tunnel to fit the Gear Vender unit?

  • @Trav450ER - the radiator is by Be Cool. It is large with 2 electric fans and cooling is never an issue. Hot summer days in traffic with ac on and never a hint of running hot. The gear vendor did not require any tunnel modifications. Just remove tail shaft housing, bolt up gear vendor and cut the drive shaft to fit.

  • Beautiful car. I can see you have coil over suspension in the front. Ive thought about it doing to my car which is a daily driver / street car only the negative Ive heard from source is that the bushings rubbing and all the noise and vibration from the suspension transmits inside the car making it noisy is this true.

  • astuteness, I do not experience any of those problems with my TCP coil over conversion. All the bushing locations have grease nipples. I like my system and would do it again if I build another Mustang.
